Daikanyama is quietly one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in any city. Low-rise, tree-lined, impeccably designed. The must-visit is Tsutaya Books - multiple floors, cafe on top, every kind of book from design to fiction to magazines and art. The backstreets around Okura are packed with great stores. Walk in any direction and you'll find something worth going into.

Green Thumb Bakery
Coffee ShopOne of our favorite bakeries in Tokyo. It’s a bit out of the way and as with most bakeries the items are best in the morning. There are some nearby parks and playgrounds to sit and enjoy in.
Don't MissThe items vary daily but are all great. My favorite chocolate chip cookie in the city.
Skip It IfYou are on a strict schedule or are just looking for a coffee.

Osteria Urara
RestaurantA unique concept restaurant in a more remote area of Daikanyama. A chalkboard lists their daily incidents and you can ask for pretty much anything that includes them. Heavy menu translation is needed here and be sure to work with the staff.
Don't MissTheir set menu if you want to streamline the process.
Skip It IfYou are uncomfortable with heavy translation.
