Ebisu
Upscale Without the Attitude
Ebisu sits between Shibuya and Nakameguro and shares both their energy without the extremes of either. The Yebisu Garden Place complex has a handful of good restaurants and a beer museum (Sapporo is headquartered here). The backstreets are full of excellent bars and small restaurants and are surprisingly home to many of our favorite bars.
Stay here if
You want a more upscale base that's still connected to Shibuya and Nakameguro and has very central train routes.
Skip It If
You don’t want to split the difference. This is a half step down from Shibuya in terms of being a major area but a half step up from Nakemeguro.

BarRegularly on the top 50 bars in Asia / the world list. Beautiful cocktails, great table snacks, and very cool vibe. Make a res if possible. There is Bar Trench and the larger Bar Trench Annex across the street. We prefer the original but its the same menu and drinks.

Spincoaster Music Bar
BarTiny 10-person record bar in Ebisu. Intimate, great sound system, solid drinks and unlimited snacks. A gem if you can get in. Make sure to check hours and consider reaching out on IG. We found they occasionally are closed with no reasoning.

Tokyo Photographic Art Museum
ExperiencePhotography only museum just outside of Ebisu in a beautiful building. Exhibitions rotate quarterly so do some advanced research to make sure you like the photographers being shown.
Don't MissThe best photography centric museum in Tokyo.
