Roppongi
Art Museums and Late Nights
This is the expat hub of Tokyo. During the day a home to some of Tokyo's best museums including Mori Art Museum and the National Art Center. By night it turns into Tokyo's most international bar and club district - loud, expensive, and heavily tourist-facing. Not our favorite nightlife but the right spots are still great.
Go for the art. The Mori Art Museum has some of the best contemporary art shows in Asia.
Stay here if
You're coming specifically for the art museums or want Tokyo's most international nightlife scene.
Skip It If
You're not into contemporary art and don't want the international nightlife scene. Not a neighborhood we'd recommend as a base.
