🗼Tokyo Tower
Our Take
The view is fine but Tokyo Skytree is taller, newer, and more interesting
Go regardless if...
You're doing it for nostalgia or the Zojo-ji temple next to it

About
Tokyo Tower is a communications and observation tower in the Shiba-koen district, completed in 1958 and modeled after the Eiffel Tower. At 332 meters it was the tallest structure in Japan until 2012 when Tokyo Skytree opened. It remains one of the city's most recognizable landmarks and has two observation decks open to the public.
Time Needed
45-60 minutes including both observation decks.
Best Time To Go
Evening for the light display and city views. The tower is lit up nightly and the surrounding park area is pleasant at dusk.
Getting There
Akabanebashi Station on the Oedo line, 5 minute walk. Alternatively Kamiyacho Station on the Hibiya line.
Tips
Tokyo Skytree is taller and arguably has better views. Tokyo Tower wins on atmosphere and the surrounding neighborhood, which is quieter and more interesting to walk around after.
